14 weeks and a tooth!

Connor is officially teething. I felt his first tooth today on 7/31/11, and he is barely 3 months old! Oh, and last week he slept through the night one night! He has also developed this new HORRIBLE screech. But, he is still adorable and such a little cuddly bug. What a week it has been..

Updating 8/2/11
Connor is officially 14 weeks old today! That blows my mind. And what a change in development it is! I feel like it is just one thing after the other! As I posted on 7/31/11, Connor is teething. Adam and I felt and now SEE not 1 but 2 teeth, and its' his canines! How bizarre... Connor slept through the night again last night! He made some noises at 3, but I decided to wait and he didn't cry, so at 545 he woke us up crying. It feels so good getting 7 hrs of sleep! Last night we gave him a little rice cereal too. Yeah, it's probably a little early, but I diluted it so much it looked like melted ice cream, and fed it to him on a spoon. He did good, but I doubt we will do it again until he's 4 months. He is so strong, and he holds up his head really well. Oh, and he just started playing with toys! It's fun to watch him play and laugh at himself. lol. Saturday we went to the zoo. We enjoyed it, but it is so dang hot here, we can't stay out long. I got some cute pictures though. :) Naps aren't as long as they were. In fact, Connor really just cat naps. He use d to sleep for 2-3 hours at a time, but lately it's been 30 min-1 hour. In the mornings, he will wake up around 545/6 and usually go back to sleep. I just started walking in the mornings after he wakes up and that way he sleeps through it and it's cooler outside. Another new development is Connor's SCREAM. Yeah, whatever happened to crying like a normal baby? He screams at us when he wants something. It is a horrid sound, and I hope he grows out of that soon. Ohh and his hair is growing!! Guess what color? Brown :) He is looking more like me I think. I 'm sure it will turn blonde, but for now it is brown and adorable :) It's growing straight up. hahaha As for me, I've made it to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I signed up for weightwatchers today b/c I want to lose more. I would sign up for a gym, but the one I want to sign up for won't watch Connor until he is 6 months, and Adam works long hours, so I couldn't go. So here's to weightwatchers and walking! Weightwatches has a deal going on for 3 months for $54, so I figured, why not? It's worked for everyone I know, and this way Adam will be forced to eat healthier too. Well, that's all I can think of that happened this past week.. I know more stuff happened, but I can't remember it all. Connor is just growing too fast!!

3 months :

Connor is 3 months old! And he LOVES wearing no clothes(hence the picture above), and Yes, he is STANDING in the 2nd picture. He's leaning against the chair cushion, but he was standing up and not falling over or unstable. He is so strong but since he hates tummy time, I try to do other things so he can build more strength. He pretty much holds up his head now, and he doesn't move around as much anymore. He still kicks around, but not as much as before. I miss his newborn phase, but I'm loving this new exciting phase. I know each milestone is going to be bittersweet, but I'm looking forward to it. I visited our friends Kelly and Eric and their newborn, (3 week old), Brady, and it is so crazy to see how much Connor has grown and changed in just 2 months. I miss the little noises and the constant sleeping haha, but I love the cooing, giggles, and new development. Sunday, I just sat and stared at Connor pretty much all day. He is my heart and soul, and I never knew that I could love anyone SO much. Over the past week-ish, Connor has sat up a few times on his own. He falls over, but he keeps sitting up. It's crazy. He flips over from his back to his tummy a lot, and I'm pretty positive he would roll over from his tummy to his back IF he liked tummy time. haha. It is too funny. As far as sleep goes, we are getting pretty good at this. He falls asleep around 9 or 10, and he usually only gets up once during the night. Usually around 2 or 3 and then sleeps until we get up around 6:30/7:30. Sometimes he gets up around 1:30 and again around 5:30, but that's if he doesn't eat much before we put him down for the night, but he definately knows that it is nighttime. He wakes up to eat and goes right back to sleep. We try to cluster feed him sometimes before bed, but he only eats when he's really hungry. He's eating between 4 oz and 6 oz every 2 1/2 hours - 3 hours. When he wakes up in the mornings, he will only eat about 3 oz or 4 oz, stay up for a couple of hours, and then fall back asleep. He usually takes one 2-3 hour nap/day, and I prefer that over catnaps so I can get things done. He's doing so good, and he has completely transformed into this adorable, happy baby boy. Well, he's always been adorable :) As for me, I'm doing great! I have lost a little more weight, and still LOVING mommy hood. SO many people are pregnant. I think more people are pregnant than not pregnant, and I am so excited for everyone. It's the best feeling! Until next time..

Mommy advice: Do what you feel is right for you and your baby, and don't compare your Mommy skills with another Mom. YOU know what is best for you and your little one. What is right for you may not be "right" for another Mom, and vice versa. A happy mommy makes a happy baby!

2 1/2 months!

It's been awhile since I've posted, but it's been pretty busy. July 9-16 Connor and I flew to Virginia to visit my family. It was a wonderful visit! Connor did awesome on the flights, but it was exhausting. That Sunday we had a big cookout with family, and Connor did great again but it was hard on him. We didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to see, but it was all so tough on him, that I ended up staying at my parents house all day for a couple of days. I just had to do what was right for him. Lauren and I got Connor and Delaney's pics done Friday :) They are so cute! But leaving Saturday was so, so hard. We all cried. My dad is so in love with Connor (ofcourse mom is too), and it was so much fun watching my parents be nana and papa. Now for Connor updates: Connor is SO vocal. He screams at us if he wants attention, and he giggles and coos. It is so sweet :) A new thing is that he rubs his eyes when he's sleepy. Oh, and we think he's teething. He drools SO much, and chews on everything. I guess only time will tell, but he is still so smiley :) Mornings are still my favorite. I set up his walker without the wheels and put him in it the friday before we left for VA. He LOVES it. It allows him to kick and move arond, and it helps build his back and neck muscles too because he hates tummy time. Ugh. I can never do tummy time for longer than about 3 minutes or he screams, so we improvise. I need to go get him an exersaucer so he can jump and play, but he's still so short, he doesn't reach the floor yet. It is just fun to watch him kick his legs and squeal. LoL. I love it. He is so adorable, fun and sweet. Adam is loving this age I can tell. Whenever we talk to Connor, he smiles and it is a blast. Here are some pics of my sweet boy!

Family visits Texas & update on Connor!

Connor will be 10 WEEKS Tuesday, and he has really started to show that he has quite the personality. Every morning he wakes up smiling and laughing. He loves mornings. It makes getting up really early MUCH easier for me. The Doctor FINALLY called me back Friday. I called them twice before she called me back, but she told me that the lump in Connor's belly is a fat deposit, and the one in his cheek is a lymph node, but NEITHER are anything to be worried about =) Phew! You can imagine the relief. I wasn't too worried, but it's scary when you have to have these things done to your child. I cried at the ultrasound (as did Connor), but all is well so that is a huge weight lifted off. Adam's parents and sister came to visit this past week. They will be here until tomorrow, and it has been so much fun. We went out to dinner on my birthday, and Saturday we went to Galveston Beach. My first trip to the Gulf Coast and Connor's first beach trip ever:) Connor enjoyed the water because it was warm, haha.. obviously we kept him under a huge umbrella b/c he's too young for sunscreen. I had a hat on him and basically a full body suit.. and let me just tell you that he got sunburn on ONE side of his face and nowhere else on his body. I have no idea how that happened and almost cried last night because of it. It really isn't that bad and doesn't seem to bother him at all. I just didn't want my baby to have sunburn. I mean... he did not leave the umbrella except for pictures and he stayed covered, but the sun here is just so hot. We all got some sun. Everyone else got more than me obviously b/c I was under the umbrella with Connor the majority of the time, which doesn't bother me :) I gave Connor tylenol last night just in case, but he is fine. I'm probably just an overbearing Mother! But, the trip was nice and I'm glad we were able to go. OH, and on my birthday, June 30, Kelly and Eric Weisinger welcomed their sweet, ADORABLE, baby boy Brady Dean Weisinger into the world. He was 8 lbs 5 oz and 21 in long. He looks like his mommy and is perfect! I am so so excited for them. Being a mommy is the best feeling in the entire world, and nothing tops those first few moments when you hear your baby cry and hold them for the first time. We can't wait to meet you Brady! Tomorrow is the 4th of July, so a HUGE Thank You to our troops, and especially my husband Sgt. Adam Hill of the United States Marine Corps. I'm so proud of you. You are our Hero!! I feel like I have more to post, so I will post more later :) Happy and Safe 4th!
